Baptism Gift Idea

My twins' friends have all been getting baptized.  This is what our family likes to give them:

Most kids when they get baptized receive a new set of scriptures so I like to give these to help them personalize their scritpures.  I buy them from Deseret Book.  There are several different series available but I like to give the Savior Series.  You can buy it online HERE from Deseret Book or Amazon has several of the other series available as well.

Then I attach a little homemade card complete with their name at the top.  My kids sign the bottom and I tie it up with a white ribbon.  Easy!

I have a little boy card...

And a little girl card...

You can download these HERE.  I like to print them on white card stock.  The clipart is courtesy of my favorite artist Susan Fitch found HERE.

These would also make great gifts from the primary after a primary child has been baptized!

Teacher Holiday Gift

I thought these would make the perfect gift for my kids' school teachers!

I found the cutest poem for teachers HERE.  It even included the image to download!
ThenI found $2.00 4x6 red frames at Target...

The image above didn't quite fit right so I adjusted it.  You can download my adjustment HERE to have it fit a 4x6 frame.  I had mine printed at Costco as a 4x6 lustre picture...easy!

These would also make great holiday PTA gifts to teachers!  Our school this year has a lot of male teachers and this gift would be great for both genders!!

Christmas Gift Tags

I made the following tags for a project I was working on and thought I'd share.  They are great for gifts you are giving on the "large-scale" like neighbor gifts, church group gifts and the like!

Download them HERE.  I printed mine on white card stock, cut them out simply (just around the white space) then punched a hole in the corner in order to attach to all the gifts and signed them.  Easy!

I've also got these that I've made as well:

Download those HERE.  They just aren't as easy to cut out :) but still super cute!

Gift Tags

I LOVE gift giving!  With that said, it can get a little $$$, especially when I come from a big family...I have 9 siblings and close to 100 1st cousins!  I attend LOTS and LOTS of celebrations - weddings, birthdays, baby and bridal showers, you name it!  My kids also go to LOTS and LOTS of birthday parties.  We take LOTS and LOTS of gifts to these events so I try to be as frugal as I can (without being a total cheapo!) with my gift giving.  I don't want gift giving to be a drain on our family financially so I've found a few ways to save money of gifts.

One of the ways I've been able to save a little money on my gift is actually not on the gift at all but it's packaging.  I make a simple homemade gift tag instead of purchasing a card - those things can add up!  And too bad because they usually just end up in the trash.  The only essential purpose of the gift card is to tell the recipent who the gift is from anyway so this is a simple way to accomplish this task...
Then all we do is handwrite in who the gift is to/from - my kiddos LOVE this part!

My favorite use for these is on a gift bag (and usually a re-used one at that!).  I just hole punch the top and cut a small slit to it.  Slide it on the gift bag handle and put a tiny bit of Scotch tape on the slit to make sure it doesn't come off.

Or they can be easily taped to the top of any gift (this one was so big I opted not to wrap it - I just attached a bow)...

This one is for weddings or baby showers:
For weddings, I print these on white cardstock - something about wedding screams white :).  For baby showers, I usually have a page printed on yellow - a nice neutral for boy or girl!  But a light pink or light blue is always fun too!

This is for the girl birthday:
It's fun to print on a bright pink or purple cardstock!

Then here's one for the birthday boy:
Green, red and blue cardstock are fun for these!

You can download all 3 of these tags HERE.   Usually when I'm trying to assemble the gift, I'm running late (please tell me I'm not the only one!) so to help me with time, I always try to have a whole bunch of these cut out, hole punched and ready to grab and go!

Stay tuned for more ideas on how I like to save on gift giving!!

Baptism Gift Idea

Our family is LDS (Latter-Day Saint, or Mormon which you can find more about HERE) and we believe in baptism at 8 years old.  My twins were recently baptized and I just had to share a very SIMPLE  but very UNIQUE gift they received from their primary teacher...
She calls it their "secret code."  And all she does is take the child's initials and writes out a unique code, puts it on scrapbook paper and frames it.

In their class, it's a big deal to find out what their special code is going to be.  The child can decide to keep it a secret or share it.  My twins have theirs displayed in their bedroom as a constant reminder of how they can strive to be better!

LOVE IT!!

Teacher End-of-Year Thank You Gift

My kids have benefited from some amazing teachers this year!  So I put together a little teacher thank you gift...
The printable is from HERE.  I chose the 5x7 one and had them printed at Costco (I like the lustre option but that's just my preference).  Then I got these IKEA 5x7 frames found HERE.  It was super simple, super cheap, and I think they'll like it!  Right up my alley!

Then I'll have my kids write each of their teachers a quick note on each of the cards.  I may also write a thank you as well on the same card.  With raising my kids, I really try to stress the importance of showing gratitude toward others, especially those who give so much to us.

These could also double up as a great PTA thank you gift to teachers as well!!
